Worn, scored shaft end beside a re-machined shaft end

We agree a written scope of work with you before we start, arrange ultrasonic testing where it is needed, machine the part back to drawing, check run-out, and sign off your quality control plan (QCP) stage by stage where you have one.

What we repair

  • Pump shaft journals that are worn or damaged.
  • Rotors: including fitting new rings and final machining.
  • Pump covers and motor covers.
  • Stage casings of multistage pumps.

How a repair runs

  1. Scope of work. We agree in writing what will be done, and the hold points if you have a QCP.
  2. Testing where needed. Ultrasonic testing by a specialist NDT partner.
  3. Pre-machine the worn or damaged areas.
  4. Fit new parts, for example press-fitting new rings.
  5. Final machine to drawing.
  6. Check run-out on rotating parts.
  7. QCP sign-off. We sign off each stage on your QCP. If anything must deviate from the drawing, we raise it through your concession process.

Where a repair needs it, we also arrange specialist welding, including shaft welding, hard chrome plating and thermal spray coatings through specialist partners.

Repair or replace?

Send photos or the part. If a repair will not restore the part to drawing, we quote a new one: we make shafts, rings, sleeves and bushes to drawing, and have made shafts, sleeves and nuts to a worn sample.
